  Health Care Education

The Health Care Education Programs offered by the Foundation for California Community Colleges improve the availability of health care by increasing access to the education institutions that prepare and development health care professionals in California. We accomplish this goal through sustaining the Foundation-developed internet-based tools for capacity expansion (www.NursingResourceCenter.org), through grant-funded projects promoting health care provider education in the California Community Colleges, and by providing grant funds for California schools providing nursing education and Flo's Cookie Jar grants to students who might otherwise have to leave school. The Foundation collaborates closely with the California Community Colleges, the System Office, private foundations, state and local agencies, and interested parties.

Nursing Endowment
A $15 million endowment from Wellpoint, Inc. is being used to support community college nursing education programs through a grant process.
