Youth and Adult Services provides quality educational and training programs for community colleges and the students that they serve. Youth & Adult Services is committed to enhancing existing services that assist youth and adults in pursuing their academic goals, launching career paths, or shaping roles as active citizens in local communities.

  Youth and Adult Services programs  
 
 

Teacher Training

Recruits community college students receiving cash-aid and supports them in their Early Care and Education pursuits.
 
Recruits community college students and TANF–CDC Participants to provide early learning and school readiness services to local communities in need.
 
Recruits community college students to provide reading and math tutoring to low-achieving K-6 children.

Foster Youth Services

Youth Empowerment Strategies for Success (YESS) aims to build powerful and personal relationships that will impart the skills, knowledge, and resources that foster youth need to successfully transition to independent living.
 
Works in collaboration with the California Department of Social Services and the Community College campuses to provide experiential life skills training and college and career preparation to current and recently emancipated foster youth.
 
Works in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and the Community College campuses to provide experiential life skills training and college and career preparation to current and recently emancipated foster youth.
 
Recruits community college students to provide one-on-one mentoring and tutoring services to foster youth.
 
Recruits individuals from throughout the community to provide full-time service to address the needs of foster youth through capacity building projects intended to create permanent infrastructures within the YESS–California and YESS–Los Angeles Programs.
