All full-time and part-time employees of the Foundation (who work more than 1000 hours per fiscal year) are required to join the CalPERS retirement program. This is a defined benefit plan, meaning that upon retirement each participating employee will receive a fixed amount of retirement income from CalPERS if they worked enough hours during employment to become fully vested.


403(b) and 457 Plans: Optional supplemental retirement plans where employees can elect pre-tax deductions for retirement savings and have multiple investment options to choose from.
