Julian Roberts was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Foundation for California Community Colleges in 2017, and, as head of the Foundation’s strategic accounting and finance functions, he oversees reporting, budgeting, planning, and investment management of an annual operating budget exceeding $50 million. Roberts’ problem-solving acumen, his ability to bring to life highly complex financial data for multiple audiences, and his mastery of nonprofit financial principles, policies, and procedures are instrumental to the continued and significant year-over-year growth of the organization.

With more than a decade of finance and strategy experience working for and with large nonprofits, federal and local government agencies, and international governments, Roberts previously held key leadership roles at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and Special Olympics International. At CFPB, he developed and managed the enterprise-level strategy program, and at Special Olympics International, Roberts implemented complex finance and fundraising analytics, reporting, and related systems.
Roberts is a proud California Community College alumnus, transferring from American River College to the University of California, Berkeley and earning a bachelor of arts in philosophy. He completed his graduate work at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, earning both a master of business administration and master of public health.
