Golden State Grant Program

Providing pandemic relief for California families.

Recent California legislation authorized a one-time payment of $600 to Supplemental Security Income (SSI)/State Supplementary Payment (SSP) and Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI) recipients to assist and provide relief from hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Foundation for California Community Colleges, on behalf of California Department of Social Services (CDSS), will be sending these one-time relief payments to recipients of SSI/SSP and CAPI program recipients to ensure that Californians get the relief they need to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Foundation has leveraged our statewide reach and deep connections to California’s diverse communities, ensuring that families receive the financial support they need as our state works to recover from the pandemic.

To learn more about the SSI/SSP and CAPI programs, visit the CDSS website >

Eligibility for the Golden State Grant Program is pre-determined by SSI/SSP or CAPI eligibility. Payments will be sent to the last address on file.

Customer service representatives are unable to determine eligibility for the program at this time. Our representatives are only able to answer questions about check issuance, correct naming errors, lost, or damaged checks, and/or address changes for this payment and cannot assist in eligibility requests.
