Supporting those affected by the California wildfires.

updated August 9, 2021

Thousands of California community college students, faculty, and staff have been impacted by devastating fires burning across our state. Our thoughts remain with all those affected by wildfires, now and over the past few years. We know to recover and rebuild takes significant time and resources, and your generous donation will help to ease this process. Past recipients of donors’ support have used funds to relocate and to replace laptops, supplies, transportation, clothes, and food lost or destroyed in hasty evacuations.

As hubs of their communities, our colleges serve as evacuation centers, information centers, deployment centers, helipads, providers of first responders, and more. We are grateful for the critical role our community colleges play in their communities. Please give now to support our community college family.

Give Locally

In the midst of a local crisis, fundraising can be an added challenge for community colleges. We have established this fund to reduce the administrative burden on the colleges most impacted by the wildfires. You can still help local college communities support students and staff by donating to a specific college foundation. Below is a list of colleges in communities we know have been affected so far this year. This list will be updated as the fire season progresses and as we are informed of which communities urgently need support.

  • Butte College
  • College of the Siskiyous
  • Columbia College
  • Feather River College
  • Lake Tahoe Community College
  • Lassen Community College
  • Sierra College

To add your college to the list above, please email Impacted colleges can find more information here about how to receive support from the Wildfire Relief Fund.

"We either have friends or family who have been tragically impacted. This is why it is vital for our community college family to come together to help the students, faculty, and staff affected rebuild." Keith Aytch, President, Evergreen Valley College
