About Fiscal Sponsorship

What is Fiscal Sponsorship?

"Fiscal sponsorship" means a nonprofit organization (the "fiscal sponsor") agrees to provide administrative services and oversight to, and assume legal and financial responsibility for, the activities of groups or individuals engaged in work that furthers the fiscal sponsor’s mission.

National Network of Fiscal Sponsors

A fiscal sponsor is a nonprofit organization that, in addition to its other work, advances the public benefit by facilitating the development and growth of charitable, mission-driven activities.

In a “Comprehensive Fiscal Sponsorship Relationship”, the program becomes a fully integrated part of the fiscal sponsor who maintains all legal and fiduciary responsibility for the fiscally sponsored program, its employees and activities. The fiscal sponsor assures funders that the purposes and any restrictions of all grants and/or contributions will be met.
