The Chancellor's External Leadership Advisory Council connects the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office with key thought leaders, technologists, philanthropists, policymakers, and other influencers to strengthen its understanding of the national operating context for Chancellor’s Office’s work and leverage the best experience and thinking from around the country to increase the effectiveness of the California Community Colleges’ efforts surrounding the implementation of the system’s Strategic Vision.

Members assist the Chancellor's Office in myriad ways, including: 

• Pressure testing current strategies and approaches critical to the system’s reform efforts under the system’s new Vision for Success 
• Identifying and nurturing new opportunities for the Chancellor’s Office to advance the goals of the California Community Colleges goals collaboratively with state and national partners.
• Amplifying the system's voice in state and national conversations and acting as champions to highlight the value and accomplishments of the California Community Colleges.
