Charles was interested in changing employers to advance his career, obtain full-time employment, and increase his income. Through Opportunity Junction, a non-profit focused on skill building and basic needs, Charles became a Fresh Success participant. Fresh Success connected him with resources to support his job search and helped him refine and update his job hunting skills. Gas cards made it possible for him to attend interviews and job events, and counseling sessions with a career coach taught him how to approach a job search in today’s labor market.

“It was really helpful to have my resume created by my career coach and be able to start my job search. I learned how to search for jobs online and send my resume to employers,” he said. Charles is now working full-time as a warehouse associate and is happy with his job change.

“I enjoy my job and the atmosphere. I work with a very helpful team and enjoy the relationships I have made with co-workers,” he said. Thanks to his new work, Charles is working toward better overall financial health by paying down debt, saving money, and refinancing his home.
