Andy MacNeill

Dean of Learning Resources and Academic Support

Dr. Andy MacNeill is the Dean of Learning Resources and Academic Support at San Diego Mesa College. With over 30 years of experience in higher education, including 23 years in the California Community College system, he oversees professional learning, tutoring, library services, education, and equity and student support programs. Andy’s leadership has earned multiple awards for the innovative and equitable practices of the San Diego Mesa Tutoring and Computing Centers and the New Faculty Institute. He presents on these award-winning programs at conferences like NCORE and CCLC.

Andy collaborates with faculty, professionals, and administrators, providing professional learning opportunities that support student success. He holds an Ed.D. in Community College Leadership from San Diego State University, an M.A.T. in Teaching English To Speakers of Other Languages and Spanish from the School for International Training, Vermont, and a B.A. in Information and Communication Studies from California State University, Chico. He actively contributes to the ACCCA Board of Directors, serves as Southern California Chair of ACCCA’s Mentor Program, and is the Vice Chair of ACCCA’s Management Development Commission. Andy also serves as President of the San Diego Community College Management Association. His dedication lies in empowering others through accessible professional learning, driving positive change within their institutions.
