Antonio Lavermon
Antonio “Nío” Lavermon is the LGBTQ+ Program Facilitator and Liaison at Cerritos College, where he has overseen the growth of the campus’ LGBTQ+ Program since December 2021, with an emphasis on LGBTQ inclusion campuswide and student success cultivation.
He earned his B.A. from California State University, Long Beach, where he worked at the university’s alumni association on fundraising projects and maintaining positive relationships with alumni. His professional relationship with community advocacy began in health care, where he worked closely with older adults, folx with disabilities, and lower-income communities. Later, Nío started working at The LGBTQ Center Long Beach, supporting the TAY population through case management, group facilitation, cultural arts, educational workshops, and events programming.
His work continues to center the voices of the marginalized, including but not limited to queer and trans persons, women, people of color, undocumented folx, and those of mixed-status backgrounds. Additionally, Nío is a yoga and dance fitness instructor. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, swimming, laughing, learning, all forms of art, and spending time with his loved ones.
