Bonnie Lockhart
Bonnie Lockhart (she/her) is the Director of Student Life and Support at Mendocino College and a proud member of the Sherwood Valley Band of Pomo Indians. Raised on the Pinoleville Reservation, Bonnie started her educational journey at Mendocino College. Inspired by cultural studies and interpersonal communication, Bonnie transferred to California State University, Monterey Bay, where she focused on human communication and peace studies. After graduation, Bonnie returned to her community to support youth in connecting with temporary housing, substance use treatment, mental health services, healthy activities, and community events.
Encouraged by tribal elders, Bonnie later attended UC Berkeley where she completed a master’s degree in social work management and planning. She returned to her community where she partnered with individuals, tribes, and organizations to build and rebuild programs that center intergenerational healing, identity, allyship, basic needs, cultural activities, empowerment, and overall well being.
