Huy Le
Huy Le (he/him) is currently the Counselor/Instructor for Learning Communities at De Anza College, where he serves students from various learning communities such as Pride, Puente, First Year Experience, Umoja, IMPACT AAPI, and CIS-LinC. Born in Vietnam and raised in East San José, Huy comes from a first-generation and low-income background.
Through his own personal experiences navigating education, Huy has a keen understanding of the challenges many students often face in their everyday lives. These experiences have propelled his decision to pursue a career path in counseling within higher education.
Huy began his educational journey at West Valley College, where he earned two associate’s degrees in sociology and communication studies. Subsequently, he successfully transferred to UC Berkeley on a full-ride scholarship and earned his bachelor’s degree in social welfare. After completing his undergraduate education, Huy went on to pursue his graduate studies at San José State University, where he earned his master’s degree in counseling and guidance. Outside of his work, Huy enjoys traveling, attending concerts and music festivals, embarking on food adventures, and spending time with his friends and family.
