My Hoang Nguyen
Mỹ Hoàng Nguyễn is currently at a student at Golden West College. As a tenant of systemic barriers and violence, Mỹ has dedicated their career to addressing social justice issues such as homelessness, immigration, and LGBTQ+ rights, with extensive experience in community organizing, program management, and advocacy.
Mỹ’s experience includes program management with LGBTQ+ Vietnamese-led organizations, where they led numerous programs, advocacy, and youth initiatives. Mỹ was also involved in providing accessible immigration services that directly service and connected over 2,000 low-income community members with immigration services.
Mỹ co-founded previous organizational work, contributing to nonprofit board development, community engagement, and policy advocacy. Their earlier roles included statewide positions centered on youth leadership and homelessness, as well as youth counseling, where they developed skills in youth leadership, grant writing, and conflict resolution.
Currently pursuing a psychology major at Golden West College, Mỹ hopes to eventually achieve a PsyD degree to explore healing on both an individual and systemic level.
