The Foundation entered into compliant contracts based on specific flooring product needs of California’s 116 Community Colleges. As of January 2016, CollegeBuys is able to adopt CSU and UC agreements, making them available systemwide, leading to larger contract offerings and best value procurement options.
Extensive Options from Industry-Leaders
The Foundation’s Flooring Materials contracts offer an array of items, including:
- Carpet tile, rolled carpeting, vinyl flooring, vinyl composition/ bio-based tile, linoleum flooring, rubber flooring, and walk-off mats for academic environments
- Synthetic turf and sports flooring for athletic environments.
Total Cost of Ownership
The flooring products are designed to reduce operating costs for participating agencies, including site preparation, product installation, maintenance, repair, and removal. Products are meant to withstand demanding college environments without degradation or failure, excessive maintenance, or replacement.
Competitively Bid
All contracts are competitively bid and comply with California Public Contract Code (PCC) requirements. Awarded vendors agree to and are subject to high levels of accountability in order to provide high-quality products and services that will reduce long-term operational costs for participating agencies.
KYA Services
Through the Foundation’s contract with KYA, community colleges have access to competitive pricing on a variety of products and services, including innovative indoor surfacing, gymnasiums and sports equipment, replica plantscaping, synthetic grass, maintenance, design, and project management.
