Last month, @mdrc_news shared new work-based learning research during a webinar hosted by FoundationCCC. The research was commissioned by the Success Center for California Community Colleges, housed at FoundationCCC, and funded by the @californiacommunitycolleges Chancellor’s Office.
The research explores work experience education (WEE) and promising practices to support students at community colleges in California and across the nation.

Foundation for California Community Colleges honors the life and service of Gary Reed, former @californiacommunitycolleges Board of Governors member and @foundationccc Board member. His dedication to California’s community colleges and their students continued through his service on our Investment Advisory Committee until August 2026.

What does it take to sustain an LGBTQIA2S+ Employee Resource Group on a community college campus?
At this week’s Collective Equity Impact Institute, hosted by the @californiacommunitycolleges Chancellor’s Office, four colleagues brought practical strategies to that question. (pictured left to right)

Their session drew on a statewide guidebook developed by a workgroup of the California Community Colleges LGBTQIA2S+ Advisory Committee. Participants explored how to build institutional support and launch or strengthen employee resource groups on their campuses.
Through our partnership with the Chancellor’s Office, FoundationCCC helps coordinate LGBTQIA2S+ resources and support across California`s community college system. We’re grateful to Kelly, Emilie, Lucio, and Julie for giving colleges practical ways to support the people building more welcoming campuses. 🏳️‍🌈
