MindWires has a long and successful history working with the CCC system. What differentiates MindWires is our expertise and experience in the education space, particularly in helping large, complex organizations develop effective online education and infrastructure strategies. MindWires, through its widely-read e-Literate market analysis role, keeps track of key educational trends. Our consulting practice routinely works with organizations to perform deep-dive needs assessment, readiness assessments, and project scoping around educational offerings to expand and improve learning results and organization success.

Products and Services

  • General Facilitation and Vendor Selection - Using our past experience with universities and organizations as a guide, MindWires/e-Literate would work alongside stakeholders to ensure success before and during the RFI/RFP writing, evaluating vendor responses, and choosing and negotiating vendor agreements. Our services include: • Market Analysis • Market Review with Stakeholders • RFI/RFP authoring • Needs Assessment • Facilitating Stakeholder Groups • Facilitating Vendor Demos and vendor selection
  • Needs Assessment - For the selection of technology and services evaluations, decisions should be anchored by an understanding of the problems to be solved and not just the solutions. A lot of the tension in decision making on technology in education comes from jumping too quickly into discussions of specific features. The process should be focused on needs rather than features. This requires an entirely different and deeper set of questions than which features are important to put on a checklist. It requires an in-depth exploration of how teaching and learning happens in various corners of the community and what capabilities would be most helpful to support those efforts. Our Services Include: • Strategic Analysis • IT infrastructure Analysis • Cultural Readiness Assessments • Administrative Process Analysis • Student Journey Mapping
  • Leading Workshops - MindWires will help create a workshop based on a district’s needs be training on a new educational theory or team building and lead the workshop for a district.
  • Develop Strategic Funding Plan for Online Education - MindWires will facilitate and lead the development of a strategic plan for online education initiatives, working with relevant stakeholder groups to gather input and group buy-in during the process. This process typically takes 4 – 6 calendar months. For statewide initiatives like OEI, this work can be applied to the development of a strategic funding plan for grant disbursements, collaboration, and sharing for the augmentation funds. MindWires will work with CCC districts to create strategic plans for online / distance education initiatives that will ensure the following: • Research existing online education programmatic needs o Internal scan of existing documents and stakeholder interviews o Facilitate group meetings to clarify programmatic priorities • Alignment with existing workplans and priorities • Gap analysis for online education and in particular for degree programs and certificate, short-form programs • Develop strategic funding plan document to describe funding opportunities to address gaps and high-priority workforce development and needs o Describe X number of funding needs along with expected funding size and number of sub-grants to schools o Identify shared services which should be provided by OEI directly to the colleges alongside financial grants o Describe criteria for each funding area, in terms of qualifying for grant and reporting & data sharing as part of grant performance • Describe operational mechanism (organization, governance, data collection, collaboration) to coordinate grants over a three-year period
