Privacy Statement

The Foundation for California Community Colleges (FOUNDATIONCCC) is committed to protecting your privacy and developing technology that gives you the most powerful and safe online experience. This Statement of Privacy applies to the entire FoundationCCC.org website, and activities associated with FOUNDATIONCCC’s servers, and governs data collection and usage. Other sites that we link to, including third-party sites, may have their own policies.

By using FoundationCCC.org, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

This Privacy Policy is effective June 16, 2023.

Collection of your Personal Information

FOUNDATIONCCC collects personally identifiable information, such as your email address, name, home or work address, or telephone number. FOUNDATIONCCC may also collect anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your ZIP code, age, gender, preferences, interests, and favorites. To ensure compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, 15 U.S.C. Sec. 6501-6506 (“COPPA”), FOUNDATIONCCC does not collect personal information online from children under the age of 13.

Data about your computer hardware and software is also automatically collected by FOUNDATIONCCC. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, and referring web site addresses.

Use of Your Personal Information

This information collected is used by FOUNDATIONCCC for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the FoundationCCC.org website.

FOUNDATIONCCC also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from FOUNDATIONCCC and its affiliates. FOUNDATIONCCC may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered. FOUNDATIONCCC sends out newsletters for those who have opted in using an opt-in link.

Protecting Your Data

FOUNDATIONCCC does not sell, rent or lease its customer/donor lists to third parties. FOUNDATIONCCC may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your unique personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, and other voluntarily provided information) is not transferred to the third party. In addition, FOUNDATIONCCC may share data with trusted partners, such as the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, and administrative service providers (i.e. program managers or other direct service staff), to help us perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries.

All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to FOUNDATIONCCC, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.

Note, FOUNDATIONCCC does not use or disclose sensitive personal information, such as race, religion, or political affiliations, without your explicit consent.

You may also send us an email at communications@foundationccc.org to request access to, correct or delete any personal information that you have provided to us or affirmatively opt-out of any FOUNDATIONCCC communications.

Online Tracking

FOUNDATIONCCC keeps track of the Web sites and pages our customers visit within FOUNDATIONCCC, in order to determine what FOUNDATIONCCC services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content within FOUNDATIONCCC to clients whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.

FOUNDATIONCCC does not track its users over time and across third party websites to provide targeted advertising and, therefore, does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals. However, some third party sites may keep track of your browsing activities when they serve you content, which enables them to tailor what they present to you. If you are visiting such sites, some browsers allow you to set the DNT signal on your browser so that third parties (particularly advertisers) know you do not want to be tracked.

Use of Cookies

The FOUNDATIONCCC site uses “cookies” to help you personalize your online experience. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. Should you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the FOUNDATIONCCC services or Web sites you visit.

Changes to this Statement

FOUNDATIONCCC reserves the right to modify Statement of Privacy at any time, and will occasionally update it to reflect company and customer feedback. FOUNDATIONCCC encourages you to periodically review this Statement to be informed of how FOUNDATIONCCC is protecting your information.
