Advancing Adult Learner Success

Traditional enrollment practices often overlook the unique circumstances of adult learners. To address this gap, the Success Center recently released “Advancing Adult Learner Success Through Strategic Enrollment Management,” a publication offering practical insights for reimagining Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) through an adult-centered lens.
This article highlights how institutions can better support adult learning through SEM practices and create more equitable pathways to success for these students. It also provides actionable recommendations that colleges can begin implementing right away to better meet the needs of adult learners.
To further this important discussion, FoundationCCC hosted an accompanying webinar featuring Cassie Donnelly, Program Manager for the Success Center. As a panelist, Donnelly shared valuable perspectives on implementing adult-centered SEM approaches, drawing from her extensive experience supporting California’s community colleges in creating more inclusive systems.
The Success Center is a strategic initiative of FoundationCCC, serving as a catalyst for systemic change across California’s community college system. Through its work, the Success Center advances FoundationCCC’s mission of improving student outcomes, fostering innovation, and advancing equity statewide.
