California LAW Pathways Student Champion Spotlight

Milad D.’s journey showcases the transformative power of higher education. As a first-generation Iranian-American student from Southern California, Milad has set himself apart as a leader during his time at Saddleback College, where he is completing his final semester as a political science major. Building on this foundation, Milad has channeled his drive into meaningful academic and civic contributions on campus.
As a California LAW Pathways student, Milad has engaged with specialized coursework designed to prepare students for legal careers. Through the program, he has gained invaluable insights that have shaped his academic trajectory and professional goals, further solidifying his aspirations to attend law school after graduation. Milad has secured acceptances to transfer to UC Berkeley and UC Irvine, with additional decisions pending. His strong academic achievements through Cal LAW have laid a solid foundation for his future.
Equally committed to creating impact beyond the classroom, Milad recognized the importance of community and representation on campus. He founded two student organizations: the Iranian-American Society and the Pre-Law Society. He served as President of both organizations while simultaneously representing his peers as a Senator at Large in the Associated Student Government. Through these roles, Milad championed student advocacy and created lasting platforms for peer support and cultural connection.
Milad acknowledges the foundational support provided by his parents, Professor Quinlan, the Cal LAW Pathways Program, and the dedicated faculty at Saddleback College. His ambitious spirit and leadership qualities embody the definition of a Cal LAW Scholar.
