Empowering Student Success: 2025 Scholarship and Emergency Aid Impact

Our 2025 scholarship and aid impact reports highlight how these programs are helping students move forward on their educational pathways across California Community Colleges. This year’s figures reflect the collective impact of several scholarship and support initiatives, showcasing how financial assistance is reducing barriers, improving persistence, and expanding access to education for students from a wide range of backgrounds. The targeted investment of these programs equates to progress toward certificates, degrees, and long-term career goals.

Emergency Aid for First-Generation Veteran Students

Thanks to a generous investment from the Auto Club of Southern California and the Bill and Shirl Schreiber Endowment, FoundationCCC launched a new emergency aid program to support first-generation veteran students at 11 eligible community colleges. This funding provides critical support beginning in the summer months, when many veterans are without access to their full benefits. 

2025 total impact: 

  • 106 first-generation veteran students supported
  • $52,500 distributed to 8 California Community Colleges

Keenan Insurance Scholarships

The Keenan Insurance Scholarships provide financial support to underrepresented community college students pursuing careers in insurance, risk management, and financial services, distributing $47,400 to campuses across California since 2022

  • 32 scholarships awarded
  • $19,200 distributed to California Community Colleges

FoundationCCC seeks to help lift students out of poverty and put them on a path to a better life through higher education and job opportunities. This scholarship not only offers tangible financial support for students but also seeks to promote and increase the diversity of professionals working within the insurance and risk management sectors. California Community Colleges Scholarship Endowment (CCCSE)

The CCCSE Osher Scholarships support students across the state in achieving their academic goals by distributing scholarships from a permanent fund every year, made possible thanks to the generosity of the Bernard Osher Foundation and many other donors throughout California. By helping ease the stress of financial challenges, students can focus, persist, and succeed. 

This year’s highlights: 

  • 4,046 students supported in 2024-25
  • 6,118 scholarships distributed in 2024-25
  • $3.9M distributed to colleges in 2024-25

Real Estate Education Scholarship

Expanding access to real estate education opens doors to meaningful careers and strengthens California’s workforce. In partnership with the Chancellor’s Office, the Real Estate Education Endowment is helping students access scholarships to pursue careers in real estate. 

2025-26 impact:

  • 77 students supported
  • 101 scholarships awarded
  • $60,000 distributed to California Community Colleges

The endowment helps support real estate education through grants in support of projects that promote, enhance, or advance the proficiency of real estate practitioners through courses provided by California community colleges and the maintenance and support of scholarships for students enrolled in industry-related career-oriented programs.
