Futures Summit 2025 | Educational Innovation in the Digital Era

Earlier this month, the California Community Colleges Digital Center for Innovation, Transformation, and Equity, an initiative of the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, operated with principal partner, Foothill-De Anza Community College District, hosted the second annual Futures Summit at the Santa Clara Convention Center. This premier convening is designed to drive digital transformation and innovation across the system.
The event brought together over 800 visionaries, educators, and industry leaders to explore the intersection of emerging technologies, policy, and curriculum development with a focus on equity, access, and innovation. The summit directly aligns with Chancellor Sonya Christian’s Vision 2030, which responds to the technological and environmental changes facing our communities while holistically addressing the needs of the California Community Colleges and the students they serve.
“The age of AI demands large-scale collaboration and cooperation. And the California Community Colleges are doing just that. We are more than ready. We believe that our time is now!” — Dr. Sonya Christian, Chancellor, California Community Colleges
The Futures Summit, led by the Chancellor’s Office and supported by FoundationCCC’s Conference and Events team, highlights the system’s commitment to harnessing the potential of generative AI to enhance educational access and success. The insights gained from this event will continue to shape our approach to education in the AI era.
