Aian Mendoza

Aian Mendoza (they/them) is a queer and trans non-binary Pilipinx person from Southern California (Tongva territory) and a transplant on unceded Ohlone territory since 2018. Their passion and dedication for social justice activism and community organizing grew from their lived experiences as a young queer person of color navigating multiple oppressive institutions. This foundation has guided Aian’s work with non-profit and identity-based organizations addressing issues such as gender affirming care, youth leadership, ethnic studies, college access, food justice, harm reduction practices, workers’ justice, and more.
Aian is a proud community college graduate, having earned an A.A. in Business Administration from Santa Ana College before transferring to UC Riverside for a B.A. in Ethnic Studies. They later completed a Master’s in Social Welfare (MSW) at UC Berkeley, focusing on macro social work. Aian’s professional background spans program management, curriculum building, case management, LGBTQIA2S+ advocacy, and leadership development. They are excited to pay forward support at Diablo Valley College as the Senior Program Coordinator for the newest student center, the Inclusivity and Wellness Center, which supports basic needs, Dreamers, and Pride student resources.
