Al Weyant-Forbes

Al Weyant-Forbes (he/they) is the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) Specialist at Riverside City College and co-chairs the LGBTQIA2+ Association for Student Success and Equity (LASSE). Al is currently pursuing a doctorate in social work at the University of Southern California’s Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, focusing on innovative ways to increase equitable support for trans and non-binary community college students, utilizing a design justice framework. 

Originally from Central New York, Al received his master’s degree in higher education administration and bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology from Syracuse University. Since relocating to California in 2014, Al has been committed to fostering inclusive education. Outside of work, Al finds joy in spending time with family and friends, communing with nature, and supporting live music and theater.
