Al Weyant-Forbes

EOPS Specialist and Counselor

Al Weyant-Forbes (he/they) is the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) Specialist and adjunct Counselor at Riverside City College. He also co-chairs the LGBTQIA2+ Association for Student Success and Equity (LASSE). Al has a doctorate in social work from the University of Southern California, with his work focused on innovative ways to increase equitable support for trans and non-binary community college students, utilizing a design justice framework. He created the TRANScend Toolkit as part of this work, which can be found at transcendtoolkit.com

Originally from Central New York, Al received his master’s degree in higher education administration and bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology from Syracuse University. Since relocating to California in 2014, Al has been committed to fostering inclusive education. Outside of work, Al finds joy in spending time with family and friends, gardening, communing with nature, and supporting live music and theater.
