Anthony Mestas

Administrative Specialist to the Vice President of Instruction and Academic Senate

Anthony Mestas (he/him/el) is an Administrative Specialist in the Office of Instruction at Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC), where he supports the Vice President of Instruction and Academic Senate. In this position, he has gained valuable experience supporting the educational landscape from outside the classroom, while shadowing and supporting one of the executive leaders at Mt. SAC.

He previously held educational support roles working for the Kuwaiti Consulate as a Scholarship Advisor for the Ministry of Higher Education of the state of Kuwait. Mestas also has experience in the classroom, teaching English as a Second Language at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and English as a Foreign Language in Xi’an, China. He hopes to eventually return to teaching, particularly fashion education, as that is his passion, and he enjoys working with students.

Mestas is dedicated to creating a culture of belonging for all students and hopes to remove as many obstacles for them as possible through his work, so they can focus on their educational, career, and personal goals. In his community, Anthony volunteers and supports LGBTQ+ initiatives with the City of La Puente and serves on the Pomona Valley Pride Center Advisory Board.
