Augustine Wasanthe

With a decade’s worth of experience with Gender and Sexuality Alliances, Augustine is an asexual, agender, and aromantic professional who aspires to become a professor and sociologist. They have long-term experience with higher education and seek to create an affirming space for LGBTQIA+ students that prioritizes justice and safety. They graduated from Mt. San Antonio College in 2022 with four associates degrees, with their primary major being Sociology, and now attend City College of San Francisco as an adult college student. Their favorite class at Mt. San Antonio College was the Sociology of Sex and Gender Roles, and they are excited to pursue an LGBTQ Studies Associate of Arts degree and certification as a Sexual Health Educator. Augustine is also a proud Point Foundation Community College Scholar and minored in LGBTQ Studies at UCLA, their transfer institution. And now they are an incoming first year graduate student for San Francisco State’s Sexuality Studies Master of Arts and look forward to serving in this committee.
