Kerby Lynch

Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies (Tenure-Track)

Dr. Kerby Lynch (she/they) is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies at Cosumnes River College and a community-engaged scholar whose work bridges Black geographies, queer studies, and racial justice. She holds a Ph.D. in Geography and a B.A. in African American Studies with a concentration in Gender and Sexuality from UC Berkeley. Dr. Lynch also serves as Director of Research and Facilitation at Ceres Policy Research, where she leads participatory research focused on reparations, youth justice, and community reinvestment. She is the Executive Director of the Bay Area Lesbian Archives and co-curated Sister Hold On, an intergenerational exhibit on third world lesbian movements presented at Eastside Arts Alliance. Grounded in Black feminist and abolitionist frameworks, her pedagogy emphasizes collective care, cultural memory, and transformative systems change. Dr. Lynch brings a deep commitment to LGBTQ+ liberation and intersectional organizing within education, in archives, and across grassroots movements.
