Director

Kirk Tramble is a technology and AI governance leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning enterprise technology, cloud strategy, and nonprofit governance. As Founder and Principal of Kizata LLC, he advises organizations on responsible AI adoption and governance and has held leadership roles at Chevron, Oracle NetSuite, Apple, and Nitro Software. He also brings significant board leadership experience, including serving as Board President of the Cal Alumni Association, where he oversaw fiduciary governance for a $16 million organization and chaired its Executive Committee.

Tramble’s personal connection to California’s community colleges is grounded in his eight years as a faculty member at College of San Mateo, where he taught cloud computing and developed the college’s Cloud Computing Certificate of Achievement. Through his teaching and mentorship, he has been committed to expanding pathways into STEM and technology careers for students who have historically been underrepresented in those fields. His dedication to student success remains a central motivation for his board service, and he values opportunities to continue impacting student outcomes through engagement with campuses, students, faculty, and staff.

Tramble brings a unique combination of expertise in artificial intelligence, data strategy, technology governance, and workforce development that will be increasingly valuable as the California Community College system navigates the opportunities and challenges presented by emerging technologies. His leadership helps support FoundationCCC’s mission to benefit, support, and enhance the missions of the California Community College system and improve outcomes for students throughout California.

Tramble earned his Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
