Maw Karly V. Simon

Maw Karly Simon (she/her/siya) is a transgender Filipina advocate, higher education professional, and founder and director of The Rainbow Project, a community-driven initiative dedicated to advancing LGBTQIA2S+ belonging, leadership, and empowerment through advocacy, mentorship, education, and community engagement. She is also establishing the Maw Karly Simon Pride and Leadership Scholarship, an initiative that will support and recognize emerging LGBTQIA2S+ student leaders in the Philippines.
As an administrative assistant in Career Education at Coastline College, Maw supports initiatives that promote student success, workforce development, and educational access. A first-generation college graduate, she previously served as president of both the Mt. San Antonio College Pride Club and the California State Polytechnic University Pomona Pride Club, leading efforts to expand LGBTQIA2S+ visibility, strengthen student leadership, and create more inclusive campus communities. She is committed to empowering future queer leaders and fostering equitable opportunities for LGBTQIA2S+ communities in California and beyond.
