Ron Edmondson is the Director of Smog Check Referee Program Operations at FoundationCCC.

Edmondson provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) Smog Check Referee Program. With two decades of experience in the Referee Program and seven years in program management, he brings deep technical expertise and proven leadership to this statewide initiative.

FoundationCCC Highlights

  • Since joining FoundationCCC in 2004, Edmondson has held several key roles within the organization. He began as a Referee, transitioned to Regional Manager in 2018, and later advanced to Business Operations Manager and then Associate Director before assuming his current position. Throughout his career, he has played an integral role in shaping the program’s growth and evolution.
  • Under his leadership, FoundationCCC has implemented a robust Quality Assurance Plan, redesigned the Student Technician Training Program (STTP), and expanded training and professional development opportunities for those pursuing careers in automotive emissions and diagnostics. 
  • He is committed to fostering a culture of innovation, shared leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Referee Program.

Edmondson began his automotive career as a repair technician and later became a certified smog technician. He joined the BAR Smog Check Referee Program in 2000 and has continued his professional development with factory training from Bosch and General Motors, specializing in emissions systems, engine building, and engine performance.
