Tanya Garbolino

Director, Workforce Development

Tanya Garbolino is the Director of Workforce Development at FoundationCCC.

Garbolino provides strategic leadership within FoundationCCC’s workforce development department related to a portfolio of state and federally funded projects that support California’s learners and workers. She leads the implementation and expansion of Fresh Success, an innovative program that leverages federal dollars to help CalFresh recipients become more employable. Garbolino also directs the department’s grants administration team, which oversees the full lifecycle of grants and subcontracts on behalf of partner agencies, including designing solicitations, awarding and executing agreements, and ensuring strong fiscal and program compliance. She fosters partnerships with state and local government, community colleges, community-based organizations, and philanthropic funders to expand workforce development activities across California.

FoundationCCC Highlights

  • Led the expansion of the Fresh Success CalFresh Employment and Training program, bringing over $20 million in federal funding to California to date
  • Launched a new grants administration project to support the California Community Colleges’ North/Far North Regional Consortium in managing subcontracting, invoicing, and compliance for approximately $30 million in annual state workforce development funding

With two decades of experience, Garbolino focuses on serving low-income populations. She began by spearheading social marketing campaigns for California’s SNAP Education and now heads a program that extends SNAP Employment and Training statewide. Her expertise encompasses managing obesity and nutrition initiatives, post-award government grant oversight, federal and state grants administration, and financial control of a diverse $15+ million project portfolio.

Garbolino received her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with concentrations in Strategic Management and Marketing from California State University, Sacramento.
