Remembering Gary Reed
Statement from Keetha Mills, President and Chief Executive Officer, Foundation for California Community Colleges on the passing of former California Community Colleges Board of Governors Member and FoundationCCC Board Member Gary Reed:
“Gary Reed was a dear friend to FoundationCCC and a steady, dedicated presence in our organization for many years. We are deeply saddened by his passing.
Gary served on our Board of Directors from 2009 to 2015, and his commitment to the Foundation continued long after his board term ended. Through his service on our Investment Advisory Committee until August 2026, he remained a valued part of our work to support California’s community colleges and their students. We are grateful for his enduring dedication and the care he brought to that responsibility.
Alongside his service, we will remember Gary’s warmth and kindness. He was a lovely person who will be greatly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. Our thoughts are with his wife, Chris, and all who loved him.”
