Scaling the Growth of Registered Apprenticeships

The Chancellor’s Office recently selected FoundationCCC as the technical assistance provider to support the expansion of apprenticeship opportunities throughout the state.
As part of Vision 2030’s commitment to expanding equitable access and support for all California students, the Chancellor’s Office has set a bold target to increase apprenticeship participation by 15% over the next three years. To help achieve this goal, FoundationCCC will lead statewide technical assistance efforts, providing apprenticeship partners with the tools, expertise, and networks they need to build and grow high-quality registered apprenticeship programs. Through the Grow Apprenticeship California Initiative, FoundationCCC will help the California Community College system, serving 2.1 million students across 116 colleges, scale apprenticeship programs in emerging sectors.
Supported by Proposition 98 funds for the California Apprenticeship Initiative (CAI) and Related and Supplemental Instruction, this partnership will drive the creation of new and innovative apprenticeship opportunities throughout the state. Expanding apprenticeships beyond traditional trades opens doors to a broader range of careers, fostering innovation, promoting economic mobility, and helping to build a more inclusive, diverse workforce in California that reflects the changing demands of today’s industries.
