A Message to Our Colleges
Welcome to the Wellness Coach Designated Education Program Newsletter!
As our first newsletter issue, our team is excited to begin highlighting the incredible work taking place across the California Community College system. As of June 2025, twenty California community colleges have been awarded grant funding by the California Department of Healthcare Access and Information (HCAI), in partnership with Foundation for California Community Colleges (FoundationCCC), to launch Certified Wellness Coach (CWC) education programs. These designated programs are developing curricula that prepare students to support the behavioral health needs of California's children and youth upon graduation. We’re excited to announce that several programs are launching their Wellness Coach education programs in the coming 2025-26 academic year!
This newsletter will spotlight program milestones, share resources, and celebrate progress as colleges implement these transformative efforts.
As we head into the summer, the FoundationCCC’s Wellness Coach Designated Education Program (WCDEP) team plans to stay connected and to be a continuous resource and thought partner. Stay tuned for updates and opportunities as we expand behavioral health services and student career pathways statewide.
