A Smarter Transfer Standard for California’s Faculty and Students

Program Pathways Mapper (PPM) 2.0 officially launches this month, marking a pivotal advancement in how California’s public colleges guide students toward completion and transfer.
Powered by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, Kern Community College District, and FoundationCCC, PPM serves as a valuable resource for all students, helping them navigate their higher education journey, secure graduation, and plan for early career success.
Built as a statewide academic planning tool, PPM visually connects students to clear, structured pathways from enrollment to transfer and completion. Version 2.0 introduces a modernized experience for students, faculty, and administrators, including intuitive navigation, streamlined curriculum authoring, automated campus integration, and enhanced labor market visuals. These improvements are a direct response to user feedback and position PPM as a vital solution to academic planning and student support.
PPM 2.0 aligns with California’s most ambitious education goals, including the Guided Pathways framework and the Governor’s Roadmap for Success. It is one of five activities in the Vision 2030 Transfer Workplan, designed to reduce excess units, improve transparency, and ensure every student has a clear, faculty-vetted path forward.
The launch of PPM 2.0 reflects the power of cross-segment collaboration and our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of California’s colleges and students. We look forward to sharing continued progress as we work together to advance equitable transfer and completion.
