Webinars
We presented our fourth webinar to the field to deliver programmatic updates on the funding formula, apportionment, and current and developing partnerships. Director Anthony Amboy presents the Persistence Model framework from the Chancellor’s Office. The Central Office team also presented their analysis and findings from the Baseline Reports.
We presented our third webinar to the field, featuring our Program Specialist, Regem Corpuz. The webinar provided an overview of the purpose, structure, and guiding rules of the AANHPISAP Advisory Committee and a timeline for applications.
We presented our second webinar to the field featuring our two Program Specialists, Regem Corpuz, and Kathleen Dang. The webinar included an introduction to the Program Specialists, a tutorial on the Baseline Reporting Tool, and an overview of the 2024 projects in development.
We presented our first webinar to the field with our partners at the CCC Chancellor’s Office and the Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs (CAPIAA). The webinar included an introduction of all partners involved, a history of the AANHPI Student Achievement Program, and an overview of the projects and resources in development.
Conference Presentations
This presentation provided program updates and a trajectory toward Vision 2030 since its inception in April 2023. Session attendees received information, current practices, and promising practices to ensure that Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) and historically underserved student populations on their campuses are considered within the design, implementation, and evaluation process. Presenters included CCC AANHPI SAP Central Office team members, the CCC Chancellor’s Office, Orange Coast College, and Los Angeles Harbor College.
This presentation featured 6 of our participating colleges in a panel discussion about the first year of program implementation with AANHPI Student Achievement Program funds. These colleges discussed successes, challenges, and important considerations for underserved populations on their campuses. This in-person presentation and panel discussion provided a supportive space for college practitioners to discuss their experiences.
This presentation spotlighted the long-term efforts at Fresno City College and its USEAA (United Southeast Asian American) Academic Program. This session provides an overview of the over 20 years of USEAA’s work to support Southeast Asian American students and their vision for the future in light of new opportunities with the CCC AANHPI Student Achievement Program. Presenters included members of the CCC AANHPI Student Achievement Program Central Office, USEAA program staff, and current students participating in the USEAA program.
We presented a collaborative program with our partners titled “The California Community Colleges AANHPI Student Achievement Program.” This in-person presentation and panel discussion sought to expand knowledge of AANHPI student populations in the California Community College system, increase understanding of the CCC AANHPI Student Achievement Program, and learn strategies for increasing AANHPI students’ sense of belonging and success.

This article presents the historic advocacy movement that created the AANHPI Student Achievement Program, the first state higher education program dedicated to serving AANHPI students. This case study recounts the efforts behind the program and the framework for enshrining it in California’s Education Code.
