“I remember the exact moment I received the email—I was in the grocery store, carefully calculating the cost of my items to ensure I had enough money to buy food for my one-year-old,” Erica shares. “At that time, my car’s transmission had just failed. Receiving that scholarship news filled me with heartfelt appreciation and overwhelming gratitude.” – Erica B., Student, Palo Verde College
The Finish Line Scholars Program, funded by a historic $100 million pledge from the Jay Pritzker Foundation and operated by FoundationCCC, supports students to ensure they stay on track toward the completion of their educational goals and reduce regional education opportunity gaps in the Central, Far North, and Inland Empire regions. Focusing on these regions, which have the lowest educational attainment rates among adults, aligns with the Vision 2030 goal of strengthening the California Community Colleges to meet California’s needs by eliminating regional gaps in higher education achievement.
